Difference between tinea capitis and scalp pityriasis

The major difference between tinea capitis and scalp furunculosis is that the former is a fungal infection and the latter has no fungus. Of course, clinically these two diseases are not distinguishable from each other in terms of appearance, or in terms of common clinical manifestations. Both tinea capitis and scalp furunculosis have the common symptom of more dandruff, or what is called more scales on the scalp. But tinea capitis may be accompanied by a certain amount of inflammatory oozing. Some may even be accompanied by certain purulent changes, which is usually called pustular ringworm, and some may be accompanied by certain hair loss and hair breakage, but scalp furuncle is generally not accompanied by hair breakage and hair loss, so this aspect is also a key point of differentiation in the clinic.
