Fever after hemorrhoid surgery should be considered in the following three ways: first, the postoperative absorption of fever, which is predominantly low to moderate and does not exceed 39°C. It is usually transient and lasts 24-48 hours after which the fever will naturally subside. Second, consider whether there is a postoperative complication of infection by performing ancillary tests, such as blood tests, to see whether there is an elevation of white blood cells and neutrophils. Third, consider whether there are symptoms of cold. If the patient is accompanied by headache, nasal congestion, cough, runny nose, etc., consider that the patient may have a cold caused by a variety of factors such as decreased postoperative resistance and exposure to cold.
