In early pregnancy, symptoms of insomnia and dreaminess may be related to excessive stress or physiological changes during pregnancy, or to excessive concern for the growth and development of the foetus. In addition, they may be related to discomfort caused by pregnancy reactions that interfere with normal sleep, and in mid to late pregnancy, the effects of increased weight and/or abdominal pressure that may lead to increased upper airway resistance or aggravate existing sleep breathing disorders may also be related to excessive dreaming.
