Are swollen labia and vestibular gland cysts the same thing?

Swollen labia is a common gynaecological symptom. A variety of causes can lead to swollen labia, such as: non-specific vulvovaginitis, vestibular glanditis and vestibular gland cysts. Vestibular gland cysts are caused by an obstruction at the mouth of the vestibular gland ducts and the accumulation of secretions in the glandular cavity, which can manifest as a gradual enlargement of the labia, mostly unilateral, accompanied by a feeling of vulvar swelling or discomfort during intercourse. However, not all enlarged labia are vestibular gland cysts.
