The patient, a 57-year-old male, had a 3-day post-traumatic nasal hemorrhage with ineffective nasal gauze tamponade and endonasal surgical hemostasis. An external carotid arteriogram performed by an interventionalist showed that the bleeding artery was from a malformed vascular mass at the end of the maxillary artery, which was then embolized with gelatin sponge pellets and spring coils, and the bleeding stopped.
