Supplementary food addition knowledge

The principle of adding complementary foods should be gradual. The amount of complementary foods added should be increased gradually. The indicator of increase is the child’s acceptance, not the subjective intention of parents. 1. After 4 months of age, the best starting supplement should be infant nutritional rice flour (by implication, pure rice flour). Infant nutritional rice flour is the best first supplement, which has been fortified with calcium, iron, zinc and many other nutrients, other supplements do not contain a full range of nutrients. This way the child can get a more balanced nutrients, and the gastrointestinal burden will not be too heavy. Suggestions: use Nestle, Garbo, Heinz infant nutrition rice flour. Rice flour is best added during the day before breastfeeding, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, two scoops of dry powder (small scoops from the milk powder can) each time, mixed into a paste with warm water and fed to the baby with a small scoop before breastfeeding. Immediately after each rice flour feeding, feed the child with breast milk or a formula milk bottle. Parents must remember to feed the child enough at each feeding so that the child’s eating pattern does not form the habit of eating small amounts of many meals. After the child eats the complementary food, then offer the child milk until the child stops drinking. Of course if the child stops drinking milk after eating the complementary food, it means that the child has had enough. After the child tolerates this amount, rice flour can be gradually increased. 2. After the child is 6 months old, some mashed vegetables can be added to the rice flour. (About 2-3 weeks after the child is able to tolerate rice flour, you can add a little vegetable puree.) 3.After 7-8 months, you can start to add egg yolk and pureed meat. Fish soup should be added later to prevent allergies. 4.About 10 months of age, the child can have two complete complementary feedings.
