Recurrent colds and fevers, herbal medicine works wonders

In winter and spring, colds and coughs are most likely to occur, mostly caused by cold, exertion, staying up late or contact with patients with colds and coughs, often manifesting as dizziness and headache, weakness, cough, runny nose, dry throat and sore throat, itchy throat, and many others showing symptoms of bad chills, painful muscle and joint weakness, and fever. Nowadays, due to the popularity of air conditioners, refrigerators and iced drinks, there are more and more patients with fever and cough in summer. Among them, fever can prompt many patients to choose to hang a hangnail, believing that an IV is faster than taking medicine. But even so, it may still go back and forth for many days. Sometimes the temperature temporarily drops to normal (below 37℃), but in less than a day or two the fever comes back, so the heart is up and down and unusually anxious. The patient is very puzzled because he has used so many western and traditional Chinese medicines and has been given fluids for so many days, and his blood picture is not high and his chest X-ray and urine tests are normal. The vast majority of colds are viral infections, and a few are bacterial infections or combined bacterial infections. The majority of the current infusions are mainly antibiotics, and antiviral drugs such as “Ribavirin” and the Chinese medicines “Yansuuning”, “Qingkailin”, “Shuanghuanglian”, and “Douhuanglian”. “Sometimes, in order to cool down temporarily and as soon as possible, most of them add sugar to the infusion. Sometimes, in order to temporarily lower the temperature as soon as possible, most of the infusions include sugar corticosteroids such as “dexamethasone”, which is only a stopgap measure and is ineffective in suppressing the virus, but will still bring about repeated fever. Chinese medicine has a history of thousands of years in treating fever. For example, the Eastern Han Dynasty’s “Treatise on Typhoid Fever” has recorded the efficacy of hemp Huang Tang, Gui Zhi Tang, Da Qing Long Tang, Ma Heng Shi Gan Tang and Bai Hu Tang in treating fever to date. The treatment of fever has been further enriched by the warm disease school of the Ming and Qing dynasties with the creation of Yin Qiao San, Qing Ying Tang, and Qing Fei Fu Wei Poison Drink. The use of Chinese medicine to treat recurrent fever in thousands of cases, especially during the influenza A (H1N1) epidemic, the treatment of hundreds of fever patients in a short period of time, received a very good effect. Summarize the experience as follows: 1. Take Chinese medicine to reduce fever must be used in soup. Commercially available proprietary Chinese medicines such as Qing Kai Ling, Shuang Huang Lian, Zheng Chai Hu granules, Sensitive Spirit, Lotus Clear Distemper Capsules, Yin Qiao Detoxification Tablets, Golden Lotus, etc. are only effective in reducing fever for some people. Since ancient times, in addition to the “Three Treasures” (Angong Niuhuang Pill, Zixue Dan and Zhi Bao Dan) and Bao Chi Pill, soup has been used to reduce fever. “Soup is also used for swelling and going to acute diseases.” The soup dose is large, well absorbed, and can also be added or subtracted and changed with the condition, making it ideal for treating acute fever. 2.The number of times to take Chinese medicine during fever is not limited to 3 times a day, if the body temperature is above 38.5℃ or the condition is heavy, it can be taken 4 times or 5 times every 24 hours or even drink two payments of medicine a day. 3.Take frequent temperature measurements during fever and record them, 4~5 times a day until the fever is completely reduced. 4.According to our experience, acute fever, i.e. those with fever for less than 15 days, can be considered to be completely reduced if the body temperature is below 37℃ each time for 72 consecutive hours. 5.Take antipyretic and analgesic drugs at the right time during fever, such as ibuprofen, aspirin effervescent tablets, Nimesulide, paracetamol, Anacin, etc. Pay attention to: not to take antipyretic drugs as soon as you see a fever, generally the body temperature is at least 38℃ before you can take them; the interval between taking antipyretic drugs must be 4~6 hours apart; you cannot take more than two kinds of antipyretic drugs at the same time. 6, must be through sweating to reduce fever, both Chinese and Western medicines have this effect. There is sweating 1 time to reduce the fever, more often it takes sweating many times to reduce the fever. During the fever period due to medication or drip will often sweat, you should promptly dry the sweat, blow dry your hair, you can change underwear, but do not wash your hair and shower, wait until after the fever has completely subsided to wash your hair and shower. 7, during the fever diet should be light and easy to digest, spicy, barbecue, fried, dead noodles, sticky (such as dumplings), chicken soup, pork ribs soup, beef and mutton as far as possible not to eat. You can eat fresh vegetables, seasonal fruits, freshwater fish, lean pork, rice porridge, rice, noodles, etc.
