If there is pain in the urethra after childbirth, it is recommended to go to the hospital for relevant examinations to clarify: firstly, local contamination during childbirth has caused inflammation around the urethra, which can be painful. The physical examination may reveal redness and swelling around the urethra, or an increase in secretions, which require topical anti-infection treatment. At the same time, it is necessary to maintain local cleanliness and hygiene. Secondly, infection of the urethral opening or urethral infection occurs during the puerperium, commonly within three months after delivery, due to the elimination of some malodorous substances after delivery and resulting in pollution around the urethral opening, which can cause a local inflammatory reaction and cause pain. Third, if a catheter is left in place during labor, the patient can experience stinging pain at the urethra after the catheter is removed, often due to irritation of the urethral mucosa by the catheter and changes such as erosion or edema. The pain can be relieved gradually or disappear about 1-3 days after the catheter is removed.
