Do you know what vision is?

Visual field is the area of space that we can see when our eyes are fixed in front of us. By vision, we mean central vision, and by contrast, visual field is “peripheral vision”. Usually, people mostly notice the changes in central vision, but rarely realize the impact of “peripheral vision” on their lives. In fact, changes in the visual field can also have a significant impact on people’s working life, a narrow field of vision can not drive transportation, and those with severe visual field defects, even walking difficulties. The World Health Organization states that people with a visual field of less than 100 are blind, even if they have normal central vision. Therefore, visual field testing is routinely used as a means to perform visual function tests. The degree of visual field damage can be quantified by visual field examination, which is mainly used clinically for the early diagnosis of glaucoma and optic nerve diseases, and the diagnosis and efficacy observation of choroidal diseases and retinal diseases, and is also an important method for the early diagnosis and detection of some central nervous system lesions.
