Daily precautions for patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension

  Pulmonary hypertension is a group of clinicopathophysiological syndromes in which the mean pulmonary artery pressure measured by the right heart catheter in the resting state is ≥ 25 mmHg due to various causes. A variety of rheumatic diseases can cause pulmonary hypertension, such as scleroderma and systemic lupus erythematosus.  Patients with combined pulmonary hypertension need to pay attention to the following points in daily life: 1. Do not do too strenuous exercise, it is recommended to try some easy activities, such as walking on flat ground. Avoid exercising after a full meal, when the temperature is too high and too low, to avoid breathing difficulties and syncope.  2.Choose a healthy lifestyle, meals and nutrition should be balanced and avoid being too obese.  3, avoid going to high altitude (i.e. altitude over 2000 meters) areas where oxygen is thin, because lack of oxygen will cause pulmonary vasoconstriction and aggravate the condition of pulmonary hypertension.  4, female pulmonary hypertension patients of childbearing age should pay attention to contraception, so as to avoid pregnancy and childbirth to aggravate the condition of pulmonary hypertension.  5, pay attention to climate change, pay attention to warmth, prevent colds, and try not to go to crowded places. Once a respiratory infection occurs, it should be treated as early as possible to avoid bringing danger to patients with pulmonary hypertension.  6.Stop drinking and smoking.  7, follow the doctor’s instructions to take the full amount of medication on time, regular follow-up, active treatment of the original disease, while monitoring the changes in pulmonary artery pressure.
