Gum swelling and pain is mainly caused by periodontal abscess, apical periodontitis or wisdom tooth peri-coronitis, must be periodontal, root canal or peri-coronary flushing treatment; drink some kind of soup is not therapeutic effect. 1. Periodontal abscess: It is caused by chronic periodontitis which is not treated in time, and the symptoms are aggravated with the symptoms of periodontal swelling, pain and overflow of pus; periodontal treatment is required, such as calculus cleaning or abscess incision and drainage in order to effectively reduce the inflammation and swelling. 2. Periapical periodontitis: If endodontic infection is not treated in time, the root of the tooth will become inflamed and abscessed, i.e. the gums in the apical part of the root will become swollen, painful and pus-filled; endodontic treatment is required to remove inflammatory substances in the root canals in order to cure the above mentioned symptoms. 3. Wisdom tooth pericoronitis: the gums in the crown area are inflamed and swollen due to food impaction, which requires pericoronary rinsing and medication to clean up food debris and inflammatory substances. Swollen gums recommended for symptomatic treatment, drinking some kind of soup for swollen gums is no scientific basis.
