Patients who have undergone a closed antibody test and require leukocyte-inducing immunotherapy for their spouses need to bring their husband’s test reports (Hepatitis B-5 and HIV antibodies) within six months to the outpatient physician to be billed for treatment. The male partner will have venous blood drawn at the Institute by 9 a.m. on Tuesday, and the female partner will receive a subcutaneous injection on Friday morning. The male partner may eat breakfast before the blood draw, but it should be light. The blood draw and the injection must be done in the same week. It is best to avoid menstrual period and avoid spicy and allergy-prone foods such as seafood after receiving the injection. If there is widespread redness and painful itching on the forearm after the injection, wet compresses of boiled light salt water can be used.
