Are uterine fibroids suitable for minimally invasive surgery?

Patient: I have been suffering from uterine fibroids for about three years, initially found to be about three centimeters, now I have seven centimeters, I am now 32 years old and have not yet had any children. Laboratory tests and intracavitary ultrasound on July 5 this year showed a hypoechoic mass of 74*68*65 MM with clear boundaries and uneven internal echogenicity in the anterior wall of the uterus. The doctor recommended surgery, but said it would take two years after surgery before I could consider pregnancy. Which treatment is best for my case? I’ve heard that minimally invasive surgery can be considered after six months, is this treatment suitable for my case? And is there any difference between the two? Wang Shijun, Department of Gynecology, Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University
Wang Shijun, Department of Gynecology, Peking University People’s Hospital: Minimally invasive surgery refers to laparoscopic or transvaginal myomectomy, and the surgical procedure depends on the surgeon’s examination and judgment, as well as on the surgeon’s skill. Regarding the time of pregnancy after surgery, the interval of pregnancy should be determined according to the relationship between the fibroid and the muscle wall and the intraoperative situation. Generally, it is 6 months to 24 months. You may consider laparoscopic or transvaginal myomectomy.
Patient: Thank you for your prompt reply!!! Gave me some insight….
Wang Shijun, Department of Gynecology, Peking University People’s Hospital: You are welcome, and I wish you a speedy recovery!
Patient: Hello, Director Wang, I have had surgery for uterine starvation tumor, after surgery, my breathing is sometimes not very clear, I have a cough with phlegm, the phlegm is white, my throat is more itchy with phlegm, I can’t speak with strength, I get forked breath, I don’t know what is the cause and how to treat it? Sometimes I have shortness of breath in my sleep at night, and I feel like I don’t have enough air, and my stomach will twitch once or twice. I look forward to your reply, thank you very much!
Wang Shijun, Department of Gynecology, Peking University People’s Hospital: Is it general anesthesia? Tracheal intubation sometimes causes the above symptoms, but to exclude postoperative lung infection, it is recommended to take a chest X-ray at the hospital. It takes time for the intestinal function to recover after surgery, so eat less cold food, spicy food and food that is not digestible and stimulates the digestive tract, and “eat small amounts and chew slowly”.
Patient: Thank you, Dr. Wang!
Patient: Dr. Wang, after my operation, can I eat lychee, cinnamon garden, red dates, aromatic fungus, black fungus, chicken, duck, and can you give me some advice on diet?
Wang Shijun, Department of Gynecology, Peking University People’s Hospital: All can be eaten, but cinnamon is eaten sparingly, and normal people should not eat more cinnamon.
