What should I do if my child falls out of bed and hurts his head?

  Children are lively and active by nature, and bumps and bruises are inevitable in the growth process, and parents are very anxious after a baby is injured, but as the baby’s “patron saint”, they should be calm and attentive, calmly face. Baby relative to adults, the head accounted for a larger proportion of the body; in addition, self-protection control ability is poor, easy to hurt.  If there is wound bleeding, first of all, use a clean towel or gauze compression to stop bleeding; after the injury baby more crying, parents should embrace, try to calm and soothe, relieve baby tension, avoid impatience to pass, affect the baby, aggravate the baby crying and psychological fear, after the baby is quiet: (1) check the wound, such as deep, large wounds, should be bandaged after the hospital consultation debridement treatment, if necessary, wound stitches; if there is no wound bleeding, only swelling, available cold towel or ice external pain relief to reduce swelling, 24-48 hours later can be hot physiotherapy, blood circulation, general swelling more in 5-7 days or so obviously reduced.  (2) You can gently move the baby’s limbs, press the shoulder, massage and touch the baby’s abdomen, if the baby does not push away, refuse to press or cry, there is no abnormal condition.  (3) The main concern of parents after head trauma, will the child’s brain be injured and affect intelligence?  During this period, if the baby has good appetite, normal activity, and no frequent nausea and vomiting (vomiting is in the form of jet, higher pressure, vomiting caused by violent crying after injury is different from this), the injury is mild and does not need special treatment; if mental depression, drowsiness, convulsions, frequent nausea and vomiting occur, the baby should be promptly consulted and cranial CT examination should be performed if necessary.  In addition, babies recover quickly, concussion, simple skull surface fracture, a small amount of subdural and epidural hemorrhage, more heal well, and few sequelae are seen.
