Lacrimal gland prolapse that should be taken seriously

Recently, some of the patients who come in for cosmetic upper eyelid surgery are usually middle-aged or elderly, and they think it’s because the skin on their upper eyelids is sagging with age, causing “triangle eyes” and affecting their appearance! This is a type of eyelid disease, and surgical treatment will not only improve the appearance, but most importantly, reset the prolapsed lacrimal gland, thus achieving the goal of treating the disease! The lacrimal gland prolapse can occur in both men and women, but it is more common in women and involves both upper eyelids, but also unilaterally. The disease is characterized by thinning of the eyelid skin, loss of elasticity, increased skin wrinkles, sagging of the skin like a curtain, a sliding mass under the skin of the upper eyelid at the upper orbital rim, and a prolapsed lacrimal gland mass under the conjunctiva of the superior fornix. The lacrimal gland may be prolapsed under the conjunctiva of the superior fornix.
