What to do if your baby spits up and wants to eat

When a baby spits up, it depends on whether it is physiologically or pathologically induced. If the baby is within three months of spitting up, most of the cases are considered physiological, because the baby’s intestinal function is not yet well developed, resulting in gastroesophageal reflux causing spitting up. If this is the case and the baby wants to eat milk after vomiting, you can feed part of it again at an interval of 0.5-1 hour, but after feeding, you must hold the baby upright for a longer time and burp. If your baby is vomiting for pathological reasons, such as acute gastroenteritis or gastrointestinal disorders, or even viral diarrhea combined with vomiting. In this case, if the baby wants to continue to eat milk after vomiting, it must be controlled. Generally, the baby can be given a small amount of water after fasting and drinking for 2-4 hours, and can be fed normally after the baby gradually adapts and no longer vomits.
