Consequences of failed conservative treatment after rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament?

This is a 50-year-old female professional basketball player who was selected for the national team. She accidentally broke the anterior cruciate ligament of her right knee while playing about 20 years ago and took conservative treatment, but it seriously affected her performance, so she had no choice but to retire early and work as a physical education teacher in a middle school. Before admission, she complained of instability in her right knee, which is prone to sprain, pain and swelling with slight external force. Conservative treatment after ACL rupture is basically equivalent to no treatment, and the consequence is rapid aging and degeneration of the joint, joint deformity and high disability rate. So don’t just ask for conservative treatment after you hear about your ACL rupture, surgical reconstruction is the way to go. Remember! Remember!
