Congenital clubfoot

Congenital clubfoot is a common deformity in children, mainly manifesting as horseshoeing and inversion of the hind foot, inversion of the forefoot, inversion and high arch. It is more common in males and can be unilateral or bilateral. The deformity is obvious and can be detected at birth, so cases of negligence are less common. The principle of treatment for congenital clubfoot is early formal treatment. At present, the treatment of clubfoot within one and a half years of age is based on the Panseti cast technique, and the deformity can be corrected by sequential cast replacement. In older children, soft tissue release, tendon lengthening, and even osteotomy orthopedics are required. Therefore, children with clubfoot should be treated early after early detection and can be expected to return to normal.
