Hemorrhoids are mainly located above and below the dentate line and include internal and external hemorrhoids. External hemorrhoids are more common and will present as a swelling around the anus, ranging in size from 1 cm. In severe cases, thrombosed external hemorrhoids can manifest as dark purple swellings around the anus, and even the lesions can reach the size of 2-3cm, with obvious local congestion, redness, tenderness, and increased local skin temperature on examination, requiring prompt surgical treatment as an option. In the case of internal hemorrhoids located above the dentate line, the nucleus is usually small, also around 1cm, and the patient has obvious blood in the stool, or dripping blood after the stool, and repeated episodes can also lead to difficulty in defecation and unformed stools, and in severe cases, surgical treatment can be chosen as the treatment method. Mild ones can also be treated by injecting sclerosing agents into the nucleus pulposus.
