The leukorrhea consists of exudate from the labia majora and minora, vestibular glands, cervical glands and vaginal mucosa, with a small amount secreted by the endometrium in white or clear mucus form. Its amount and character vary with the amount of estrogen and the menstrual cycle. The amount increases before menstruation, 2-3 days after menstruation and during ovulation and pregnancy, and the leucorrhea is more and thinner during ovulation.
1.Increased volume (simple increase in volume): caused by pelvic and uterine congestion, heart failure and pelvic masses.
2, abnormal color: yellow, green, gray for inflammatory infection or foreign body caused. The leucorrhoea contains vesicles and the vaginal wall is dotted or prune-like bleeding spots for trichomonas infection.
3. Taste abnormalities: (1) Fishy odor is mostly due to inflammation and infection.
(2) Malodorous smell suggests that it is caused by malignant tumor of uterus, submucosal myoma infection, necrosis, or foreign body residue in vagina.
4.Quality abnormality: (1) curd-like or bean curd-like leucorrhea: due to mycobacterial infection.
(2) sorghum and rice soup-like or flesh-washing water-like foul-smelling leucorrhea: caused by cervical cancer or uterine body cancer.
(3) purulent leucorrhea: caused by inflammatory infections such as vaginitis, cervicitis, endometritis or venereal disease.
(4) Clear yellow-red liquid leucorrhea: caused by cancer of the fallopian tubes.
(5) Bloody leucorrhea: caused by cervical polyps and intrauterine device.
