Does incontinence occur during general anesthesia surgery?

In clinical practice, urinary and fecal incontinence does not occur during general anesthesia. In general, a lot of urination is assisted by the insertion of a urinary catheter, so there is no incontinence of urine, and as long as there is urine, it basically flows directly into the inside of the bag through the drainage tube. In terms of bowel movements, there is no incontinence because general anesthesia only causes a loss of consciousness, a slight loss of muscle tone, and some control, not a complete loss of muscle tone. For some of the most basic reflexes and the most basic physiological functions, there will still be a certain amount of existence, so will not form a state of fecal incontinence. However, it is important to note that if there is an accident during anesthesia, it may also cause fecal incontinence.
