How are intracranial aneurysms treated?

Surgical treatment of aneurysm includes craniotomy and endovascular intervention. Craniotomy Closure: This involves removing a portion of the skull at the appropriate site, probing the brain and blood vessels, heartily separating the aneurysm from the surrounding brain tissue, and then clamping the aneurysm to the neck of the aneurysm to isolate it from the blood supplying artery. Interventional treatment: Using a femoral artery puncture, a thin microcatheter is placed inside the aneurysm sac or at the neck of the aneurysm, and a soft titanium spring coil is fed through the microcatheter into the aneurysm sac and fills it, causing the blood flow inside the aneurysm sac to disappear, thus eliminating the risk of re-rupture and bleeding. This method has the advantages of being non-invasive, less painful, quicker recovery, and more reliable.
