Do you need to remove the uterus for uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive system, and surgical removal is the most thorough treatment option, while whether to remove the uterus or not depends on the situation. The cases that need to remove the uterus include: 1) large fibroids, and it is difficult to restore the shape of the uterus after removal of fibroids; 2) multiple fibroids, and the number of fibroids is large, and it is impossible to completely remove all fibroids during surgery, and there is a greater chance of residual fibroids after surgery; 3) fibroids grow in special locations, such as horn fibroids, and it is difficult or risky to remove fibroids alone; 4) fibroids are affected by hormones, and there is a greater chance of recurrence of fibroids after surgery due to hormones; 5) fibroids are malignant. 5.The fibroids have malignant lesions or junctional lesions between benign and malignant and need to be removed from the uterus. In addition to medical considerations, patients’ requirements for fertility should also be taken into account in the treatment of uterine fibroids. For women with fertility requirements, myomectomy is usually performed to preserve fertility, while for menopausal women without fertility requirements and with large and/or multiple fibroids, total hysterectomy is often performed. Of course, those who are suspected of having malignant fibroids should not hesitate to have their uterus removed. There are many treatment options for fibroids, and the decision of whether or not to operate is based on the condition, and the specific type of surgery chosen depends on factors such as the size, number and location of the fibroids and whether or not the patient has fertility requirements.
