Thick tongue with teeth marks is related to spleen deficiency and dampness, and can be treated with Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu San or Liu Jun Zi Wan. Normal tongue image is pale red tongue with thin white moss. When the body’s spleen is weak, water-dampness is not transported, water-dampness stays in the body, and the stomach qi is entrapped by dampness and turbidity, which is vaporized and placed on the tongue surface to form a tongue with thick tongue coating and teeth marks on the side. Ginseng Ling Atractylodes Macrocephalae can replenish the spleen and stomach, and benefit lung qi. It can be used for weak spleen and stomach, loose stools (thin and unformed feces), shortness of breath and cough, tiredness and fatigue. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this drug are not clear at present. Liu Jun Zi Pill can tonify the spleen and benefit qi, dry dampness and resolve phlegm (dispel phlegm in the body with dampness-drying drugs). It is used for weak spleen and stomach, poor appetite, deficiency of qi and phlegm, abdominal distension and loose stools. The adverse effects of this drug are not clear, and pregnant women should not take it. Patients are advised to seek timely medical treatment and follow the doctor’s instructions, do not take the drug on your own.
