When your little one gets sick, it’s a big headache for parents, so many of them take extra care to avoid the flu or exposure to the flu virus. Often neglected to avoid familial allergic diseases. Allergic diseases are often caused by subtle factors in the home environment, such as house dust mites, animal hair, pollen, mold, etc. How do allergies occur? Is the baby immunocompromised? On the contrary, the immune function of children with allergic diseases is not low. Allergies are an immune defense against external environmental stimuli, and babies’ immune systems judge these allergens as harmful substances, thus releasing some chemical mediators (e.g. histamine) for defense, which leads to the occurrence of allergic symptoms. As babies grow older, they gradually build up their immune system. If parents do not treat the allergic diseases that babies initially show, they are likely to end up with allergic rhinitis, asthma, skin allergies and a series of other diseases. How should we avoid exposure to allergens? Parents must wash bedding, clothes and wool products in hot water, at least once a week. Usually, keep baby bedding sealed. Vacuum clean often to remove house dust mites. House pets and baby’s stuffed animals are the places with the most house dust mites. If, for example, your baby has a particularly desirable stuffed animal, you are advised to buy two for a change. If your baby has severe allergy symptoms, it is recommended not to have a pet. If your baby’s allergy symptoms are not severe, consider keeping pets away from your baby’s bedroom to reduce the chances of your baby’s allergy occurring. Mold is another major cause of allergies in babies. Mold is everywhere, from closets to attics, from bathrooms to mattresses. If, however, your house is warm and humid, you can often see mold. When mold multiplies, the air is filled with mycelium, which becomes an allergen. If the house is humid, it is recommended to buy a dehumidifier to keep the air dry. Use disinfectant water or tea tree oil to remove mold, all of these methods can reduce the occurrence of allergies. Do allergic diseases need to be seen? If your baby’s allergies are starting to show, seek medical attention and develop an individualized treatment plan. When you are prepared for the above, you can avoid the threat of allergic diseases and welcome the new life happily. Take care to properly ventilate the room, vacuum and wash the baby’s mattress before you take your baby home from the hospital. Although the process of welcoming a new baby can be full of unexpected problems, it is worth all the effort if you can prevent your baby from getting allergic diseases.
