Esophageal varices grading

Patients who have esophageal varices can go to the hospital in time to have barium meal examination of esophageal X-ray or esophagoscopy to clarify the cause and disease development, and can use propranolol, carvedilol and other drugs under the guidance of doctors to reduce portal vein pressure and prevent bleeding. If drug therapy is ineffective or if there are corresponding contraindications, endoscopic ligature and sclerotherapy can be used. In case of ruptured bleeding from esophageal varices, drugs such as growth inhibitors and octreotide can be used as prescribed by the doctor, along with triple lumen and two capsule tube compression to control bleeding, or transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt can be used.
