Approximate life expectancy after adherence to chemotherapy for advanced lung cancer

In advanced stage of lung cancer, a five-year survival rate of about 5% can be obtained after adhering to chemotherapy and other treatments, which can vary.
Lung cancer is a malignant tumor of the respiratory system caused by many factors, such as smoking and heredity. Distant metastasis occurs more often in the late stage, and the patients have poor physique. Therefore, in this period, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and other non-surgical therapies are used. The five-year survival rate is about 5% after the patient adheres to chemotherapy.
However, the main purpose of treatment in this period is to improve the quality of patients’ survival and prolong the survival time. Palliative chemotherapy is often used, and commonly used chemotherapy drugs are paclitaxel, cisplatin, carboplatin, etc., which require about 12 courses of treatment. The drugs should be applied under the guidance of doctors.
