What should I pay attention to if I want to have myopia surgery? Recently, the weather has turned cooler, and many students from overseas have returned to their university campuses in Shanghai. There are many students who want to take advantage of the less stressful start of the school year to consider having myopia correction surgery (including femtosecond LASIK, LASEK, TransPRK and ICL implantation) during the peak season. Many people may be wondering what to look for when having myopia surgery. Based on the questions I usually encounter from patients, the author has compiled a list of pre and post myopia surgery considerations to share with you inside today’s refractive surgery lecture. Let’s take a step-by-step look at what to pay attention to after myopia surgery. 1. Don’t rub your eyes to prevent trauma. After excimer surgery, there is usually a corneal flap, so don’t rub your eyes for a short time after surgery. In the future, avoid all kinds of eye trauma to prevent corneal flap cracking and displacement. It is normal to have discomfort, pain, photophobia and foreign body sensation in the eye for 1~3 days after surgery. 2. Keep the eye clean. Do not make the wash water into the eye, do not swim within a week after treatment. 3, postoperative medication should be used as required. Tai Lipitor eye drops, 4 times a day for one week; 0.1% Flomax eye drops, 4 times a day for one month. 4. Regular follow-up visits are required. Check visual acuity, cornea, intraocular pressure, optometry, etc. The postoperative review time is the first day, one week, one month, six months and one year after surgery. Other refractive surgery should be done according to the post-operative medical advice from the medical staff.
