How to check skin allergens

When performing skin allergen tests, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital and register with the dermatology department to be tested and diagnosed by a doctor. There are more methods to detect skin allergens, such as skin prick test, allergen intradermal test, patch test, excitation test, serum IgE test, etc. 1, skin prick test: mainly by putting a small amount of highly purified allergen liquid drops on the patient’s forearm, then gently prick the needle into the patient’s skin surface, prick for 20 minutes, and then observe the skin’s reaction, you can know the causative pathogen and reaction level. The reaction of the skin is then observed for 20 minutes. It is mainly indicated for patients with urticaria, papular urticaria, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, asthma, etc. It should be noted that antihistamines should be stopped 3 days before doing the test, and glucocorticoids should be stopped for the first 7 days. The test should be performed only when there are basically no allergic symptoms, so as not to affect the final test results; 2. Allergen intradermal test: by inhaling different allergen skin test solutions with a syringe, and then injecting them into the skin of the upper arm, and observing the results after 20 min. attention should be paid to the late reaction of individual patients; 3. Patch test: mainly used for patients with contact dermatitis, cosmetic dermatitis and other type IV allergic diseases, which is more targeted; 4. excitation test: can be used for food, drugs, bronchial, nasal mucosa, and field excitation test, but the method is more complicated and has the risk of inducing serious allergic reactions; 5. serum IgE test: mainly used for detection by radioimmunosorbent test and enzyme-linked immunoassay. Common diseases associated with elevated IgE are allergic asthma, seasonal allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, etc., but the method may be more expensive and take a long time, etc. It is recommended that patients choose according to their needs.
