What are the chances of a warty scalp mole becoming cancerous?

Warty nevus of the scalp is medically known as epidermal nevus, which has a small chance of becoming cancerous, but depending on the individual’s condition, the possibility of cancerous transformation cannot be ruled out.
Epidermal nevus is a benign skin disease caused by overgrowth of epidermal cells, and the chance of cancer is very small. Most of them are benign lesions that usually stop growing at puberty and do not endanger the patient’s life, but a very small number of epidermal naevi may become cancerous, such as squamous cell carcinoma.
The main causes of epidermal nevus are gene mutation and heredity, and its development is relatively slow and the possibility of malignant transformation is small. It appears as a yellowish or brownish-black warty papule, which can merge to become a well-defined plaque, showing skin color, brown or grayish brown. If the rash continues to increase in size and number, accompanied by ulceration and oozing, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to exclude the possibility of malignant transformation.
If the patient has epidermal nevus, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for relevant examination and clear diagnosis.
