Can an infected wound with pus heal itself?

Whether a wound infection with pus can heal on its own depends on the severity of the condition. A milder wound infection with pus can heal on its own, but a more serious wound infection with pus will not heal on its own and requires targeted treatment. If the wound is shallow with no obvious discomfort, it can usually heal on its own; if the wound is deeper, it may affect the recovery of the skin, in which case it needs timely medical treatment to drain the pus and then change the medication again before it can heal. More serious pus formation also requires further debridement treatment, as well as the application of anti-inflammatory drugs under the guidance of a doctor. Wounds with scabs that have pus under the scabs need to be removed, disinfected with alcohol or iodophor, and the pus drained to make it heal again. Do not touch water during the wound recovery period and keep the wound dry to avoid aggravating the wound infection.
