It is not normal to have vaginal bleeding as a result of following the doctor’s instructions to drink Chinese medicine. Uterine polyps belong to the category of obstruction (lumps in the lower abdomen) in traditional Chinese medicine, which is mostly caused by deficiency of positive energy, internal invasion of wind, cold, dampness and heat, or injuries caused by seven emotions, sexual intercourse, diet and dysfunction of internal organs. Treatment is based on activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and softening and dispersing (softening and dispersing hard lumps). Patients with uterine polyps show symptoms such as bleeding between menstrual periods, excessive menstruation, prolonged menstrual period or irregular bleeding. Clinical treatments generally include Xiangling Pill, Shaobuyu Tang, Cangshu Guiding Phlegm Pill, Guizhi Poria Pill, Sijunzi Tang, and Renqi Pill, which will not aggravate the bleeding symptoms. If bleeding increases during the administration of traditional Chinese medicine, which is not normal, it is recommended to consult a doctor and adjust the treatment according to the doctor’s instructions.
