Classification of herbal medicines and commonly used medicines for the treatment of colds

  The Chinese medicine for cold and flu is superficial, and we will choose the medicine to relieve the symptoms of cold and flu. What is a symptomatic medicine? Any medicine that can disperse the surface evil and relieve the surface evidence is called relieving medicine and also called publishing medicine. Most of them are pungent in taste and have the property of dispersing. Through the path of sweating, the evil from the surface of the muscle is relieved by sweating. They are mainly used for symptoms such as cold, fever, headache, body pain, absence of sweat (or sweating) and floating pulse caused by external evil. Because of the difference between wind-cold and heat, the symptomatic drugs are divided into two categories: pungent-warm symptomatic and pungent-cool symptomatic.  Pungent-warm relieving drugs are suitable for wind-cold epithelial evidence, which can be seen as vicious cold and fever, headache and body pain, no sweat or sweating, thin white tongue coating, and floating tight or slow pulse. Some of the drugs also have the function of promoting lung and relieving asthma, promoting water, winning dampness and relieving pain, and can also be used to treat asthma and cough, edema, paralysis, etc. Commonly used pungent-warm relieving herbs include ephedra, cinnamon stick, perilla, thorny mustard, dahurica, dahurica, wind, qiangwu, hosanna, ginger, etc.  Pungent-cooling herbs are used for wind-heat symptom, which can be seen as fever with slight cold, dry throat and sore throat, thirst, thin yellow tongue coating and floating pulse. Commonly used pungent and cooling herbs are Chai Hu, Peppermint, Sheng Ma, Ge Gen, Chrysanthemum, Mulberry leaf, etc.
