Patients with cerebral infarction may experience nausea and vomiting. Depending on the site of onset and the size of the infarct, nausea and vomiting may occur in the thalamus, cerebellum and brain stem. Patients with cerebral infarction will also have elevated blood pressure, and symptoms of nausea and vomiting will occur when high blood pressure is elevated. The symptoms of nausea and vomiting in patients with cerebral infarction may be caused by the infarct site itself, by the reaction of elevated intracranial pressure, or by high blood pressure.
