The main manifestations of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis are progressive skeletal muscle weakness, myasthenia gravis (e.g. the muscles of the hand and mouth are significantly smaller than others), tremor of the muscle bundles (e.g. “flesh jumping”), medullary paralysis (e.g. hoarseness, choking on water, difficulty swallowing) and cone bundle signs.
