Fire boils usually heal in a few days

Fire boils usually heal in a few days, depending on the patient’s specific condition, treatment and individual factors, and cannot be generalized. Fire boils, known medically as boils, are infections of the hair follicles and perifollicular skin and are found on the face, neck, back and buttocks. Fire boils are usually a Staphylococcus aureus infection, and a break in the skin can be the trigger. The typical presentation is an inflammatory papule of several millimeters in size. After 2-3 days, part of the papule becomes pus and forms an abscess, and there may be necrosis in the center, and pus is discharged if it breaks down. If left untreated, it takes 1-2 weeks to heal by crusting. With regular anti-infection treatment, it usually takes only 5-7 days to heal. Some patients with malnutrition or underlying diseases can cause sepsis or septicemia possibly, and need timely anti-infection treatment, the specific time varies from person to person. In addition, patients need to pay attention to avoid skin contact with contaminants containing disease-causing bacteria in daily life, and not to consume spicy and stimulating food.
