Is early repolarization syndrome serious?

Early repolarization syndrome is not serious. Early repolarization syndrome is a common normal ECG variant, which is mainly manifested on the ECG as ST-segment elevation in the corresponding leads, similar to the ECG of acute myocardial infarction and variant angina, and is often misdiagnosed. Patients with early repolarization syndrome have no obvious symptoms and are benign ECG variants. Very few patients will have sudden death or ventricular fibrillation. If there is early repolarization syndrome, ambulatory ECG, cardiac ultrasound and other examinations are usually done to exclude organic heart lesions and malignant arrhythmias.
