How big a mole needs to be surgically removed

Whether a mole is surgically removed or not is not determined by the size of the mole, but can be surgically removed if the patient requests it and if there is a suspicion of malignancy, regardless of the size of the mole.
1. Patient’s request: Because the color of the mole is darker than normal skin, it will affect the patient’s appearance, especially if it grows on the face or other exposed parts of the body, which will affect the patient’s psychology. Therefore, if the patient asks for surgical excision, no matter how big the mole is, it can be surgically excised.
2. Suspected malignant change: if the mole is suspected to have malignant change, such as deepening color, uneven color, large or protruding area in a short time, or obvious itching, bleeding, pain and ulceration of the mole, then the mole needs to be completely removed by surgery and pathological examination should be conducted to clarify its nature.
It is recommended that the patient go to the hospital, complete all the examinations, clarify the condition, and be treated by a professional doctor according to the condition.
