In the 1960s, when a Japanese specialist performed a cerebral angiogram on a patient, he saw a network of blood vessels that looked like “smoke” and called the disease smog. Smog is a rare disease with an unclear cause, and some experts have speculated, after numerous clinical case studies, that it may be related to genetics or cerebral vasculitis, but there is not enough evidence to prove it. With the increasing understanding of smog, there is a detailed understanding of its symptoms as well as its hazards. The harm of smog disease 1, cerebral ischemia Due to the occlusion of blood vessels, blood flow is not smooth, which leads to the lack of blood supply to the brain. The disease often starts with headache, nausea and vomiting, and worsens with the course of the disease, followed by memory loss, blurred vision, aphasia, coma and hemiparesis, which brings a lot of inconvenience to the patients’ life. 2.Brain hemorrhage Because the smoke blood vessels formed at the base of the skull are abnormally thin and fragile, they can easily rupture and cause brain hemorrhage. Therefore, there is a high chance of cerebral hemorrhage caused by smog disease. There are three common types: intracerebral hemorrhage, ventricular hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage. No matter which one occurs, the patient must be sent to the hospital in time to save his life. Stages of smoldering disease Smoldering disease is divided into six stages according to the course of the disease. The first stage shows bilateral internal carotid artery siphon stenosis without smoldering vessels; the second stage shows the beginning of smoldering vessels; the third stage shows the increase of smoldering vessels; the fourth stage shows the beginning of the decrease of smoldering vessels; the fifth stage shows the significant decrease of smoldering vessels; and the sixth stage shows the disappearance of smoldering vessels. Smoldering disease is progressively aggravated from stage I to stage VI, and if left untreated, the disability and mortality rates are quite high. Treatment of smoldering disease There are no effective drugs that can stop the vasculopathy of patients, and timely surgical intervention is the main treatment for smoldering disease. The main goal of surgery is to improve the blood supply to the ischemic brain tissue and reduce the incidence of ischemia and hemorrhage. Traditional direct bypass or indirect bypass each has some drawbacks. Combined vascular bypass (direct bypass + indirect bypass) can establish a comprehensive systemic blood flow, restore blood flow and improve cerebral blood supply with definite efficacy.
