If you wake up with numbness and stiffness in your fingers, first rule out whether it is caused by nerve pressure. If there is pressure on the ulnar nerve, the patient may feel numbness and stiffness in the little finger; if there is pressure on the radial nerve, the patient may have stiffness and numbness in the thumb and index finger, so it is mainly due to pressure on the nerve. In addition, if there is frequent numbness and stiffness in the fingers, it may also be a neuropathy, and most of them suggest a nerve entrapment, so first rule out any cervical disc compression on the nerve. In addition, thoracic outlet syndrome, which is common in clinical practice, can also cause numbness and stiffness in the fingers. In this case, we can consider electromyography and improve the relevant examinations, such as cervical disc CT and cervical disc MRI.
