Fetal size at 10 weeks of pregnancy

At 10 weeks of gestation, all parts of the fetus’ body are already taking shape. The fetus is about 4 cm long, with a top-rump diameter of about 3.5 cm from the top of the head to the buttocks, and weighs about 13 grams. About half of the body length is the fetus’ head, and the size of the limbs can already be seen in shape. The crescent-shaped placenta is already visible through ultrasound, the fetal sac is starting to disappear and the fetus is encased in amniotic fluid. Because some pregnant women have irregular periods which may lead to late conception, the size of the fetus may vary, this is normal, as long as the size difference is not very obvious and the fetus development is fine when you go to the hospital, there is nothing to worry about. Folic acid should be taken in the early stage of pregnancy as prescribed by the doctor to prevent neural tube abnormalities in the fetus. During this period, pregnant women should ensure sufficient rest and avoid exposure to toxic and harmful substances in their environment to reduce the possibility of fetal malformation. Women who are newly pregnant are not recommended to have sexual intercourse to reduce the risk of preterm abortion. At the same time, pregnant women should keep a relaxed and happy mood, eat reasonably and do not exercise strenuously. If women in early pregnancy find themselves with abnormal symptoms such as lower abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time to avoid delaying the condition.
