Where the lining of the uterus can ectasize in adenomyosis

Adenomyosis is a condition in which the endometrium is ectopic into the myometrium.
Normally, the endometrium is only present in the uterine cavity and not in the myometrium. When the endometrium invades the myometrium then it is adenomyosis. In patients with adenomyosis, foci of endometrium in the myometrium are directly connected to the endometrium of the uterine cavity, and their onset is often associated with multiple pregnancies and deliveries, abortions, chronic endometritis, and other factors that cause endometrial damage.
The main symptoms of patients with adenomyosis are excessive menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period and progressive dysmenorrhea, which can be relieved with medications such as danazol and progesterone as prescribed by the doctor, or can be treated with foci resection or total hysterectomy.
Patients with adenomyosis should go to the hospital in a timely manner, under the guidance of professional doctors to clarify the cause of the disease and choose the appropriate treatment to avoid delays in the condition.
