How about interventional treatment of uterine fibroids

Uterine artery embolization for uterine fibroids is a new treatment technique that is emerging at home and abroad. Embolization of the uterine artery is a simple treatment method, less traumatic, quicker recovery, obvious improvement of symptoms, intact preservation of uterine function, simpler and more economical than traditional methods, and can still be applied to surgery and drug therapy, etc. Currently, it has become one of the three major treatment methods alongside with surgery and drug therapy, and is highly valued at home and abroad. Embolization of uterine artery can block the blood supplying vessels of leiomyosarcoma, so as to achieve the de-vascularization of leiomyosarcoma, causing ischemia and hypoxia of leiomyosarcoma, resulting in a significant reduction of the total number of leiomyosarcoma cells and shrinkage of leiomyosarcoma, which can alleviate or eliminate a series of clinical symptoms associated with it. This is obviously different from drugs that can only inhibit the size of leiomyosarcoma cells but not reduce the number of cells, which often leads to recurrence after stopping the drug, thus its efficacy is more accurate and less likely to recur. Indications Women of childbearing age, before menopause; Diagnosis of fibroids is clear and the symptoms of excessive menstrual bleeding and occupying pressure are obvious; Conservative treatment (including drug therapy and myomectomy) is ineffective or recurrent; Indications for hysterectomy; Refusal of surgery, requiring preservation of the uterus and fertility; Contraindications Serious dysfunction of vital organs such as heart, liver and kidneys; Serious abnormalities of coagulation mechanism; Acute and chronic gynecological inflammation that cannot be controlled; Penetration of the uterus and fertility Inflammation not controlled; infection at the puncture site; subplasma fibroids with tissues, broad ligament fibroids and free fibroids. Rapid growth of uterine fibroids and suspected smooth muscle sarcoma. Treatment results Postoperative bleeding was stopped, and pain and pressure symptoms were significantly improved. Their uterine size was reduced by an average of 40%. Patients can become pregnant. Imaging revealed a significant reduction in uterine volume and fibroid size after surgery. Side effects Common side effects include lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, and hypothermia, which usually disappear in a short period of time after symptomatic treatment.
