Indoor dust allergy and prevention

Because indoor dust contains a large number of organic protein substances, such as human dander, dust mites and secretions, mold and mold spores, etc., most of these substances are allergic substances and very easy to disperse in the indoor air, when patients inhale these dust, patients can quickly appear itchy nose, sneezing frequently, runny nose and other allergic rhinitis, followed by cough and asthma attacks, but also can induce skin allergies. Therefore how to reduce indoor dust is very important to prevent allergic diseases. According to our clinical experience, indoor dust removal should be done mainly from the following aspects: 1. The living environment should avoid dampness and gloom, and the surrounding area should be free of polluted air. The former can reduce the breeding of dust mites, mold, the latter can reduce unnecessary irritant gas. 2, indoor arrangement: indoor furniture should be simple and clean, the surface is easy to clean. Avoid thick nylon sofas, soft chairs, curtains and mattresses, which are easy to accumulate dust and facilitate the breeding of dust mites, and are also more difficult to clean. Do not hang frames, wall carpets and other decorative items to avoid dust accumulation. It is best to use cement or wood flooring to facilitate scrubbing, not carpet. Avoid planting flowers and plants indoors, and avoid using various insecticides. Avoid smoke, camphor, cosmetics and other irritating odors. 3.Bedding arrangement and cleaning: Bedding core should be made of new cotton, and should be replaced regularly once every 1-3 years according to the situation, not to use down quilts and silk-cotton quilts, and not to use bedding made of animal fur, including blankets, bedspreads and covers made of denser fabrics, and scalded once every 10 days or so, and research confirms that the use of 100℃ hot water can kill dust mites and denature allergenic proteins in dust, which is very effective. Good. 4. Do not keep pets such as cats, dogs and birds indoors because the fur, secretions and diarrhea of these pets can become asthma triggering factors. 5. Pay attention to ventilation indoors, ventilate at least twice a day for 10-30 minutes each time according to the season. Dust should be removed from the room regularly and preferably handled by the patient’s family. General cleaning is once every 1-2 days, and major cleaning should be once a month. 6. Children should not play with toys made of tweed or animal fur. Asthma patients who are allergic to room dust can significantly reduce the number of allergy attacks and the degree of attacks after the above measures are taken, and can even be cured without treatment. Each patient should carefully implement the above dust removal and dust control measures for early recovery.
