Do you know about these eye diseases?

Age-related macular degeneration, the macula, is the most sensitive area of the retina that determines a person’s central vision. Age-related macular degeneration, one of the most important eye diseases associated with age-related blindness, is the most common cause of blinding eye disease in people over the age of 65. Age-related macular degeneration is generally divided into two categories, atrophic and exudative. What are the causes of age-related macular degeneration? The etiology has not yet been determined. Chronic retinal photodamage, immune and inflammatory reactions may become important factors in age-related macular degeneration. What are the symptoms of age-related macular degeneration? Patients may feel vision loss, distortion and darkening of vision in the early stage, and vision may be almost completely lost in the center of submacular scarring in the late stage of the disease. How is age-related macular degeneration treated? Depending on the condition, medication and laser treatment are currently used for age-related macular degeneration injections, and a few patients receive fundus surgery. Among them, intravitreal injection of ranibizumab is the main treatment modality at present, which is painless for patients, improves vision significantly after surgery, has low risk, is safe for medication, and can be repeated.
