Atrial rhythm includes atrial premature beats, atrial fibrillation, and atrial flutter. Atrial arrhythmias need to be determined in terms of symptoms depending on the specific arrhythmia. In episodic atrial premature beats, patients may have occasional panic attacks and cardiac arrest. Patients with atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter may have repeated episodes of panic attacks with chest tightness, sweating, nausea, or chest pain due to myocardial ischemia caused by increased heart rate. The hazards, transient atrial premature ventricles are not particularly harmful, while atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter are potentially risky, most notably inducing heart failure as well as developing embolic symptoms. Because atrial arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, can develop emboli in the heart area, and the dislodged emboli may lead to cerebral infarction or other parts of the infarction. In addition, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and rapid heart rate can easily induce heart failure symptoms, and atrial arrhythmias need to be treated promptly after they are detected.
