Do warts grow on hands?

Warts do not normally develop on the hands. Condyloma acuminatum usually occurs in the genital area, and may also occur in the mouth, armpits, fingertips and other parts of the body, but normally does not grow on the hands. Condyloma acuminatum is an infectious disease caused by HPV infection, which is usually transmitted through sexual contact, indirect contact or mother-to-child transmission. Warts can lead to pimples, redness, or roughness and keratinization on the genitals, as well as corns or cauliflower-like fleshy growths on the genitals. Patients with warts can be treated with oral antiviral medications, such as acyclovir and vasiclovir, under the direction of a doctor. If the patient’s warts are large, they can also be treated with carbon dioxide lasers, freezing, or electro-knife removal of the warts.
