How is pediatric strabismus detected early?

Paediatric lordosis, commonly known as “crooked neck”, is a common condition in paediatric orthopaedics. It is usually detected at birth or within a few months after birth. If not treated in a timely manner, the deformity will gradually worsen with age and seriously affect the beauty of the patient, thus affecting the patient’s psychology, work and marriage. Therefore, it is very important to treat the disease timely and effectively. Clinically, the term squint refers to pediatric myotonic squint, which is a head and neck distortion caused by contracture of the sternocleidomastoid muscle on one side. Treatment mainly includes surgical treatment and conservative treatment, which is generally used for children under 1 year old, and surgical treatment for children over 1 year old and those who fail conservative treatment. More than 95% of the children with squint can be cured by Tui Na. However, the difficulty of Tui Na treatment is the long course of treatment, which usually takes 6 months to 1 year. In addition to the severity of the disease itself, another important factor is the early detection and treatment. Parents often encounter such parents, either because of insufficient knowledge of the disease, late detection of the disease, often to several months after the birth of the child, found that the baby’s head to the side of the obvious tilt, before going to the doctor; or the child was found soon after birth, but did not timely treatment, missed the best period of conservative treatment, thus affecting the effectiveness of treatment, part of the extended course of treatment, part of the surgery had to be treated. Therefore, how can parents find out early if their baby has a squint? The author here teaches you some methods of self-examination of squint: 1, look A look at the size of the newborn baby’s cheeks, more than half of the babies with squint have size on both sides of the jaw, generally the small side is the affected side; look at the size of the baby’s eyes, most babies with squint will be born with one eye open and the other eye closed, which is commonly known as “eye This condition will last for a few days and will be slowly relieved later, so it is easy for parents to ignore, generally the side with closed eyes is the affected side; look at the sleeping posture, that is, observe whether the baby’s head likes to sleep in one direction and rarely turns to the other side, or parents force the baby’s head to turn to the other side, but the baby will soon return to the original state, generally The side that the baby does not want to turn is the affected side. If one or more of the first steps occur, parents can also use their fingers to gently and carefully stroke the muscles on the front side of the baby’s neck, and compare the two sides to see if the muscles on one side are more tense than the other, and if the lump can be felt. Generally, the side of the neck where the muscles are tense or the lump can be felt is the affected side. Through the above self-examination methods, if parents suspect that their baby has a squint, they can go directly to a nearby massage therapist for further examination and confirmation at the first opportunity. Do not wait until after the full moon, or even after 3 months, to receive treatment, you will miss the best treatment period. You should know that the earlier the treatment, the shorter the course of treatment and the better the results. I believe that through the joint efforts of parents and doctors, babies with squint can recover faster and better.
