What to do about pustular acne

Depending on the condition, general treatment, topical medication, antibiotic treatment, and others may be given for pustular acne.
Pustular acne lesions are characterized by pustules, inflammatory papules that form grain or bean-sized pustules at the tips of the papules, which break open and a sticky pus flows out. Pustular acne is often accompanied by other bacterial infections.
1. General treatment: Use water or cleansing products to moderately remove excess oil, dander and other substances from the skin surface. Do not squeeze or scratch the pustules with your hands. Foods with high glycemic index, milk, etc. may induce or aggravate acne, so consumption should be controlled. You should have a good habit of going to bed early and waking up early, and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.
2. Topical medication: including isotretinoin, retinoic acid cream, benzoyl peroxide, fusidic acid cream, erythromycin ointment, azelaic acid, 2.5% selenium disulphide lotion and so on. A small number of patients will have mild skin irritation, it is recommended to start with a low concentration and a small range of trial.
3. Antibiotic treatment: tetracyclines such as doxycycline and minocycline are preferred, followed by erythromycin, azithromycin and clarithromycin.
4. Others: e.g. isotretinoin, birth control pills and anti-androgen drugs such as spironolactone, prednisone, phototherapy, etc.
Specific medication for pustular acne should be chosen by a specialist according to the severity of the disease, do not blindly self-medication.
