There are relatively many treatment options for stenosing tenosynovitis, the common ones being the following.
Strictly conservative treatment, the affected finger should be braked and immobilised in a plaster cast for a short period of time. Localised microwave physiotherapy, blood-activating medication and also topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are also administered.
Local closure treatment with tretinoin is more effective.
If there is still no effect after these 2 strictly conservative treatments, surgery may eventually be considered.
